On the cobbles.

Tuesday, 30 December 2014

Yesterday was a weird day.
Me and my family visited a street. However, it wasn't any normal street. I believe it goes my the name of Coronation Street?.

Yes, I found myself in the mix of a well known and loved soap opera, walking up and down the famous cobbles, and pulling a pint behind the Rovers Return.
It was really weird seeing the sets used   for the productions and creative scenes that have been brought to our screens over the past years.
From the Kabin, to Alahan's corner shop. Aurdery's hair salon and Roy's Rolls, there is stood the street in full glory with those mysterious back alley ginnels behind.

I must say, as it was partly outside, I had about 6 layers on, as it was freezing! Therefore in the pictures to follow, that is probably why I look like I've eaten my weight in christmas chocolates and leftovers of Turkey.
Anyway, it's safe to say the tour was pretty awesome, and I would highly recommend it to everyone, it's a really great day out and very exciting!

Winter Essentials.

Thursday, 25 December 2014

As its Christmas time, I don't have much time to post lots of festive filled posts, I thought I'd do a little on just to make y'all happy!
I did this one last year and as it seemed popular, I though I'd do the same this year. Here are my winter essentials....

Now, everybody needs a warm Christmas jumper, I had a one last year but it was pretty boring and grey, so this year I wanted to find one with a little colour. I found one, from primark - which was unusual as normally I don't tend to find nice jumpers in there. However I did this year and here it is!

Now, as its christmas, it's essential that every girl has Christmassy themed nails.. And a new one for me this year, I had acrylics done, so I decided it probably wasn't the best idea to get  a Santa or rudolf design on them. Instead I chose my favourite pattern, tartan and gold sparkle, let me show you a picture; it's probably better if I show you all instead of describing them.

As well as the clothing or nail essentials, there's always the pampering stuff that is a must in winter. I invested in a new bath cream - Zoellas of course; it smells beautiful, and very luxurious.

I know this post is very short, but I wanted to try and not fulfill loads of time with blogging and have a chilled out christmas break!

Hope you have all had a wonderful christmas and
                                                          your dreams came true!

Merry Christmas & A splendid New Year!

                                                                        Love,

Girl Online Controversy.

Tuesday, 9 December 2014

As a blogger, I'm highly influenced by the likes of Tanya Burr, Alix Coburn (from ICovetthee), and Hannah Leigh and obviously Zoe Sugg - the face behind Zoella.
Proving popular with many teenage girls, its clear that Zoe has used social media sites to build up a strong fan base and support base. It just shows that you can start off literally as a normal person who is not really anybody, and with just a few steps in the right direction, you can become known by millions.
I have to say, Zoe happens to be my biggest inspiration and no matter what people say, it still doesn't shy away from the fact that she has become very successful and achieved many of her dreams. She is also, one of the reasons as to why I started this whole blogging scene, I mean when you see people gaining so much from it, It doesn't half make you want to do it.
Seeing as she has released her own beauty range and received over millions of subscribers its pretty obvious that she is doing extremely well, and therefore giving her a highly regraded reputation.

Most recently, Zoe released the first of 2 contracted books, breaking records and reaching over 78,000 sales within it's first week its clearly very popular. The book Girl Online: highlights some of her own life within the main character, anxiety attacks and blog writing, Many subscribers have backed the book and brought it as shown in the sales, and me being one who has bought it of course!

However, in a recent news paper article, it was suggested that the book was partly ghost written and was not all ideas from Zoe herself, leading to people saying they feel led down betrayed etc, etc.

I couldn't disagree more. I mean anyone who thinks someone with no experience of book writing can manage to come up with 344 pages worth of ideas is very muchly mistaken. In nowhere have I seen that Zoe had written the book entirely by herself, and also, even in the acknowledgments within the book, Zoe states 'thanks to everyone at Penguin for helping me put together my first novel', now this clearly shows that she has been given help to write it.

Now, it's fair to say that the whole situation has been completely blown out of proportion and it seems that subscribers are turning against their 'So called inspiration' and because of this, I think its perhaps safe to say that some people who say they love her are only there for the twitter following instead of being there to support her and help her achieve dreams.

Its really annoying to see that someone as lovely as Zoe feel like she has to come away from posting blogs and youtube video's in order to escape from all the 'hate' and controversy caused by this article. In my opinion she has done nothing wrong and is getting slated for simply just taking the help which was offered too her.
This probably isn't the only time someone has been accused of using a ghost writer and it probably won't be the last. Revelations such as this aren't arising when it comes to songs, I mean surely people such as one direction etc have had some input in writing lyrics, most singers out there aren't song writers, so whats the difference?
And the last point I want to make is that when people are saying that she couldn't have wrote the book because she hasn't had anytime to do so, erm excuse me  but how do you know? She has uploaded video's stating that the past year she has been very busy and had many things planned to do, and she also mentioned that she started looking at writing a book at the beginning of the year, if not just before 2014, so its not like she has hidden anything, I mean she posts about half her life on the internet, so why would she shy away from the truth when it comes to her book.

So, personally, I think its completely wrong to criticize her and I think those who have questioned her book need to look at what she has said about the writing experience and the details behind it instead of jumping to conclusions and therefore almost forcing Zoe to take a break from it all.

Thankyou for reading todays post, I felt like I needed to say it because its annoying me, so I needed to get it onto some sort of site where people can see it! Anyway, just so you know Zoe, I'm backing you, ALL THE WAY!

Much love, with added hugs and bows,

Updated hair routine.

Saturday, 15 November 2014

I was looking through old posts the other day, and I noticed that the most popular one I have done, Is my hair routine, so I thought it was time we brought out an updated one! Plus, I thought it was appropriate as I recently had a change to my hair style/color.
  So here goes...

When it comes to washing my hair, I tend to do it every other day, so that I don't lose any of the natural nutrients within my hair.
I have changed the shampoo and conditioner that I use, since the last post, and I know use Herbal Essences - Naked Shine Shampoo, and Herbal Essences - Naked Conditioner. This is a brilliant product to use, because all the bad chemicals found in all the other hair washes out there, can't be found in the Naked range by Herbal Essences, So its a big winner in my eyes.

Once a week, I switch from conditioner to a hair mask. I'm using an Argan Oil wave creating one at the minute, but I can't remember who it's by.. So, really you can use any hair mask out there, because they make your hair super lush and soft, basically its one of the best ever things invented! and if you haven't used one before, you need to go and buy one right now.

After I've washed it, I obviously go and dry it, and of course apply a TRESemme  heat defence spray to protect the the main body of my hair and the ends. I then use the Aussie frizz control conditioning milk, as my hair is usually very unruly and frizzy, but by using that, it sorts all that out, which is great!

Now, moving on to styling, I still use the cloud nine straighteners because I personally think they are the best when it comes to these type of appliances, I think mine are the medium iron ones, and they form super sleek straightness and if you want wavy, they deal with that no problem and give that extremely beautiful beachy effect.

Finally, I did say that I had added color back to my locks. And yes, I am back on the ombre scene. I've got highlights on the mid lengths of my hair and I'm so happy with how it turned out as I was pretty nervous about going from my natural brown to a lighter blonde. However, If I don't say so myself, It does look rather nice, here is a picture anyway:)

finally accepting yourself.

Friday, 24 October 2014

Before I carry on writing this post, I just want to explain that this is not like any other post of mine, as its not somewhat beauty related. It's a part of me which I sometimes find difficult talking about. But I've finally decided it's time to share.
Also, this post is not something which I want sympathy for because it's just me at the end of the day. I want this to reach out to people and help them realise that life on a laptop/phone screen is not always the happy reality which it may seem.

So here goes...

I was born with a disability, a disability called diaplegic cerebal palsy, basically means, I'm weaker than you. I lost a small amount of oxygen to my brain during sometime in my mums pregnancy. To be honest no one knows how or when, it just happened.
Mostly the left side of my body is lacking, and I walk with a highly noticeable limp. But, instead of dwelling on this issue, I embrace it. I see it as something which is apart of me. I believe I'm a stronger person because of it and in all fairness, I can't imagine being any different. There's always that one question people ask though ' have you ever wondered what it would be like not having it?'. The answer?
 No.
Yes, I do have a massive imperfection but  I don't care. No one is normal. What even is normal? We all have flaws but we should be proud of who we are, and not be ashamed of the bodies were in.

Even those hard days, the operations etc, you still have to think about the light at the end of the tunnel.
You have to be the one who Is strong, show us what your made up and prove yourself to the life you were given.
You'll get nowhere if you give up, stay positive.
I take everyday as somewhat a blessing because I could have been a lot worse than I am. I'm one of the lucky ones.

So, don't take the rollercoaster such as life for granted, become who and what you want to be. Hold your head up high and remember, if you use your mind and beat the world, your truly unstoppable.

Thanks for reading, I hope this has given you a better outlook on things and you understands alittle more. Feel free to comment, follow me @_meganfrancis on Twitter.

                      Speak soon.
Lots of loves, hugs and bows!

Meet The Vamps Headline Tour - Tuesday 23rd September 2014.

Wednesday, 24 September 2014

So last night was one of the best I have ever experience. After waiting since the beginning of time, It was finally time that I went to see The Vamps. I have seen them before, however, this time it was for they're own headline tour.
It is pretty crazy when you look at how far they've come. From the garage covers in like 2012, to the sheffield city hall in 2014. What an amazing achievement, and being a fan from the very very beginning I am extremely proud of them. I can't actually describe how good the whole night was, there is literally no words.

So, after a pretty boring day at school, it was safe to say, my excitement levels, were almost full to bursting. I went straight home and quickly did my usual 'Special Occasion' makeup routine, and obviously got changed into more suitable clothes than my school attire. And set off to town!
As we pulled up, it was clear that the tour bus was there, and loads of people where stood around waiting to catch a glimpse of them. But we decided to grab some food and just wait in the queue to get let in. But then the most serial thing happened. You see in the Town center, there's like a big walkway called chapel walk, and we were just walking down and then in the corner of my eye I saw a tan Fedora. I didn't notice at first so I looked again I then I practically hit my friend and shout 'OH MY GOD, ITS BRAD AND JAMES'. We all just looked at each other in complete shock, and didn't even move over there to meet them, which is pretty annoying. Just casually walked past Brad Simpson and James Mcvey. I mean that's something that happens everyday right?

Anyway, after that crazy occurrence, we went and got food and walked back up to stand outside the city hall. After meeting another little you tube band called the secrets, it was only about an hour until we could go in. It was so cold, and I was too excited to even notice.

Finally we went in, I could not believe how close we were. Getting fan pre sale tickets was like the best decision I have ever made. 3 rows from the front, we could almost touch them..

The show started at about 7.30, with a first supporting act called E of E. I was pretty surprised, They were pretty good, and my friend was going mental over the bass player, she was literally almost having a panic attack. After E of E, it was time for the second supporting act. Luke Friend. He was absolutely amazing! He sang two originals and a cover of Sam Smith stay with me. It was mind blowing.

Then finally at about 8.50, The Vamps finally came on. The opening sequence was crazy, showing you all the videos from the very beginning and then opening the show was the video of Cecilia. They all ran on and everyone screamed so loud it was so crazy! me and both my friend went mental and couldn't seem to feel like we were in reality.
They sang so many songs from their album, I can't tell you what they all were because I was too busy singing along myself and being EXTREMELY excited. They each did there own solo, and had a video about what the other member thought about them, It was so cute! They also sang the cover of Vegas Girl, which was a huge You Tube hit for them when they first started out,

Then they finished after millions of laughs and amazing tunes. Came on for the encore singing risk it all and can we dance. Confetti everywhere! It was a great end to an out of the world show. Has to be the best I've ever been too!
I'm so gutted it couldn't go on forever, but I am getting tickets for there arena tour next year, so there is a silver lining!

Here's a few pictures to show you just a glimpse of the greatest show ever!

BRAD CALLED US LEGENDS FOR HAVING THIS SIGN!

Support Group - EOFE

Not all these pictures are what I took, I asked my friends to send me some so I could use them on here as well as my own.

I hope you enjoyed reading about this awesome night and maybe, if you've never seen them, it will make you go and check them out on You Tube!

Oh and you probably haven't but if The Vamps have read this, just like to say your show was absolutely amazing and I am super proud to say I have been a fan since the start. Love you all!

Thanks for reading and speak soon!

HAPPY 1st BIRTHDAY MegMooBows!

Wednesday, 20 August 2014

I've made it through my first year of blogging. Yes, that's right, MegMooBows graced your screens with it's first post a year today. And what a year it has been. Getting blog tweets favorited by Tom Mann, Alix Coburn and Hannah Leigh. Gaining new readers on a weekly basis and seeing the feedback I get on Bloglovin/Twitter is still a shock to the system.
I can't believe how far I have come since I first started this page, I still get shivers down my spine when I click on my blogger dashboard and see how many of you have seen my posts. I can't say it's been an easy ride, but it's been completely worth every second.

Yes, I have had times where I've not been able to post, and there has been moments when I couldn't  think of anything thing to post about and there's also been a time where I've had to delete posts due to certain circumstances. But, putting all of those aside, I think I've done pretty well. I started this page as somewhere where I can post about my passions and the things I love. I never in a million years thought it would be nearing 3,000 views after only a year. But in theory, that's all down to you. The readers. I mean, where would I be without you all? It's crazy to think I don't know who you are, especially when your helping me achieve something that is possibly a lifelong dream of mine. I can't tell you how honored I feel to have so many of you looking up to me, and taking the time out to sit and read my posts, it's truly fascinating.
I stated off with low confidence and self esteem within the writing of these types of blog posts, but as the numbers of viewers crept up, I knew I was onto a winner! Looking back at the amount of followers on twitter, retweeters, and the favourites of the bunch, It doesn't seem to sink in that maybe this is my thing for the future and something that actually interests people.I can't wait to show you all what I have planned for future posts and the coming new year.
Here's just a quick look back through. In all it's glory: MegMooBows - Turns 1!

So, I just want to take the oppourtunity to say a HUGE thanks to every single one of you who have helped on my blogging journey so far. It can't tell you all how much it means to me. None of this would have been possible without you to help me through it all. I love y'all so much.

Natural look; on my beautiful friend Jess.

Thursday, 14 August 2014

Hey guys! Its been such a crazy past few weeks, I moved house and I have had no time to write a post, that's why I haven't been seen for a few weeks on here. But, I'm back now, so y'all can calm down.
So, today's post is something that I have wanted to do for along time, and as titled its a natural look on my friend Jess. As a great friend and reader of my blog, when she asked me to do her makeup, I couldn't say no.
Without further or do, Here's the finished look, and a rundown of all the products used, and how I applied them to get a flawless look.

On Jess's face, I applied Collection - 'Lasting Perfection Foundation' and blended it in using just a regular foundation brush. Its an important step 'blending' because it means that you maximize the coverage, and it means you use less foundation on your face. Onto of this foundation, I applied the concealer from the same Collection range. I added this to Jess's t-zone, and under her eyes, This was to add a tiny amount of highlight, and to also give more stronger coverage onto her skin.

After this step, I then went in and added an Avon Magix illuminator to her under eye area, to add more definition. Before setting the foundation, its important to do the eyes, this is so that if there is any fall down onto the cheek bone, its easier to remove. So, moving onto her eyes, I used an Avon eye shadow primer, just to give a base. I then moved onto using my Sleek natural palette, and used a shimmer cream shade on the inner corners and the eyebrow bone. After this, I used a shimmer brown shade on the outer and crease parts of the lid.

To add a more defined look, I went for a winged liner. The felt eyeliner used was collection 24 hour wear, and I just extended at the end of her lid, giving the winged look. Now, on the picture you can see I used a mascara on Jess's lashes, just so they stood out more, before I did this though, I curled them with my eyeko eyelash curlers. I then finally powered her face, In order to set the make up look, And for this I used the stay matte power from Rimmel.

Onto the last part of the look, as I wanted it to be natural, I used a lip gloss from  Tanya Burr's cosmectics range, In the shade Aroura. This just gave Jess that natural summer finish!

So, that is it. How I created the natural look shown in the Image above. Hope you enjoyed reading and I would just like to say a massive thankyou to her for letting me use her face for the day!

OH AND YEAH.....

NEXT WEEK IS VERY SPECIAL! PLEASE KEEP A LOOK OUT.

Fashion and Beauty Inspirations: Part-3

Saturday, 19 July 2014

Cast your minds back to March 1st of this year. I posted a 'part 2' of my fashion and beauty inspirations, so, after a very long time, I have the last installment, Part-3.

No.5 - Brigitte Bardot

As quite a big fan of retro 1960'S style, Brigitte is a women who expressed this in a defining way. Being only young, I obviously wasn't born when she was a model, but since I saw an old picture of her, I have been literally been captivated by her sense of style. On a daily basis, I always style my hair around a more retro era and these photos are where I got the inspiration for my own style. Many bloggers like me have probably fell in with her too, So, yeah, she's a huge idol in my book.

No.6 - Niomi Smart aka 'LADY SMART'

To finish this post, and to complete my inspirations series, we have Niomi Smart, from the blog and youtube channel 'Lady Smart'. After reading her blog since she first began it, Niomi has been someone who I have looked up too within the beauty blogging community and someone who has in someway guided me through the process. She is very up to date when it comes to fashion, and her knowledge of beauty, is pretty outstanding. Outside the blogging/vlogging, She studied law at university and graduated, which is also very impressive, because in my future that is something that I want to achieve, so with that, this is another reason as to why she is a huge inspiration to me!

So, That's It, now you know all my inspirations! There's only a few, but hey ho, not everyone inspires me! Thanks for reading, hope you enjoyed!, Please comment below any new ideas you want to see me post about, and don't forget to tell your friends about me! Hehehe ..

June favorites

Sunday, 6 July 2014

I can't believe we're into July already! It's so weird when you think about how many months have gone already in the year of 2014, I can't actually believe it!
Anyway, June has been and gone now. But it left it's mark on the beauty side of life. So, to celebrate this, I'm posting my June Favorites of 2014!

Starting from the top left, and working my way down. Firstly, we have the Clinique moisturizing lotion. This was a new product I came across in June. And I'm so glad I spotted it! With the warm weather we've been having, my skin has been a tad dry, but using this it gives you just what you need in order to restore that bright, moisturized feeling.
Now, onto the Avon eyeshadow quad. Its in the shades 'Purple Haze'. And gosh, this palette is extremely flattering and great for creating that perfect summer look. Within the quad, each shade is numbered so that you can perfect the graduated look.
Moving onto the hair. As mentioned in a previous faves post, The Toni and Guy sea salt spray is still going strong! It gives me the most awesomist beachy waves that I've always wanted, so yeah, I'm assuring you now, that's one which will be in my boots basket every time i visit. Also, an argan oil heat defence spray. Now, I curl my hair everyday at a high temperature, so it's important that I keep it in good shape. This spray makes your hair feel very nourished, and healthy, which every girl wants!

There's also liquid eyeliners in my June selection this time. I have 3 that I use on a daily basis, and there happen to be brilliant! They last all day, and really give a great cat eye effect. Great precision too!

Lips, of course has to go to Tanya Burr's Aroura Gloss. I can't describe how much pigment is in this summery pink gloss, it's mindblowing! Makes a make up look very pretty and sophisticated, its also very versatile, and suitable for all occasions.

NAILS!, two colors have been my go too's this june. One, a electric blue shade by NYC, and  a sparkly purple shad by sinful colors. Now, both of there products are pigmented and only need one or two coats. Also, they last ages, so you don't have to keep changing your nail color. I really love these, and I would recommend to you all!

Finally, hair bows. Now, It's a weird favorite, but they just give you a flattering look, to any hair style, and they are also very good for any occasion. Plus, I made these ones, and it's a great way to have fun and to make your own accessories!

So, there are my June favorites! What a month it was!
Thanks for reading! Please comment and like, and tell your friends, speak soon!

Lots of Loves, Hugs and Bows!

Favorite make up products: the re-buys!

Friday, 20 June 2014

Woah, feels like I haven't posted in ages! In fact, the last time I posted was 28th of last month!
But, today I've finally got a post for you all!
Now, I asked a close friend and reader, to give me an idea for something that they want to see me upload, and actually, it's something I've been wanting to do for a while! It's my favorite products at the moment: the re-buys!

Now, on you tube, and other beauty blogs, this is done differently, maybe you've seen it as 'My empties'? or other names, but this post is about the products i'm loving right now, and I'm going to re-buy!

Poor quality photo - THANKS IPHONE!
So, first of all, we have foundations. I'm using a combination of 2 at the moment. The first, has been mentioned before, and it is the Collection 2000 Lasting Perfection foundation. This is a God send to me!, as a along time sufferer of acne, I've always wanted that non-cakey coverage, and this really gives it you! Also, it makes a pretty good base for more of a 'Going out look'.  The second foundation I use, Is actually a BB cream. Now, I first found this in a fashion magazine, I think it was instyle?, but anyway, There was a mini sample of it, and I tried it, and fell in love at the first application! Again, It gives me such a great natural coverage, plus the fact that it isn't as heavy as a normal foundation, due to the fact that it is a BB cream. so yeah, these are a complete re-buy!

Now, onto eyes! since it's been getting warmer, and the nights are too warm for sleeping, waking up with tired eyes has been a regular thing. So, using the Body Shop Eye Gel, has really helped add moisture and that 'nights sleep' feel.
After this, I would use either a liquid or pencil liner, to add definition. I've had a good record for the eyeliner game recently, which is pretty great! These two liners in particular are a fave and re-buy because they have a very consistent color, which lasts pretty much all day, plus! there extremely easy to apply!
Next up, eye shadow palettes! I have a tendency to stick it rose, peaches and naturals. So, obvs, my favorites are the sleek 'au natural' palette and the 'Avon Luxe palette in glamorous roses'. The application of both these palettes is pretty awesome, even the shimmer shades don't fall onto the cheek bones! Finally for the eyes, has to be the eye lashes. I haven't been a big fan of mascara, but I thought I'd try the Benefit 'there real' mascara. This honestly makes me look like I'm wearing falsies. Adding to this, by using my eyeko eyelash curlers, it makes my lashes gather volume, and If I don't say so myself, they look really pretty!

So, the last favorite and re-buys of the make up, has to be the lipsticks. I only have 2 that I used, but they're pretty bold, and could stand for the greatest shades ever. The pink packaged one, is my Avon smooth plum lipstick, this is mainly an autumnal shade, but I've recently really being loving it!. Adding to my bold plum, I have a dark, deep red, called Probation by Collection, the deluxe range. Again, this is a stand out color, and gives you that autumnal feel. But to be honest, I have that feeling all year round!

Now, to finish. All these products are definite re-buys, that are beautiful! I would recommend every single thing listed on this post it everyone.

So, any questions please post them in the comments below and also, give me some feedback to what I post, or maybe, give me ideas for future posts. And follow my page on Bloglovin! Also links to twitter are below:
