So we've hit the month of December, a time when the tinsel, cinnamon sticks and mulled wine come out for the first time in quite a while. As I'm a big lover of the festive season I thought it would only be right to upload a few Christmassy posts to get you ready for the arrival of the big day!
However, before I bombard with everything from fairy lights to gingerbread houses, I thought I'd ease into by posting a makeup look for everyday in the autumn season!
1. Foundation - I use 2 different foundations, one slightly lighter than the other to cover my darker areas (such as under my eyes). These are Rimmel London - Stay matte. Retails around £7/8 and it's almost like a cream mousse, that gives a heavy coverage without looking too much. I have quite pale skin, so I use the lightest shade, which I think is called light porcelain. And the second, slightly darker shade is No.7 essentially natural light coverage foundation in the shade warm Ivory. This one gives a very light coverage and I absolutely love it! It's build able and dreamy.
I just apply these to my skin after I've used a primer and then my base is done.
2. Then we move onto my eyebrows. I never used to fill them in or touch them, but after I did it once, I've never been back. Because I already have quite dark eyebrows, I just use Soap&Glory's archery to outline and then I use a medium brown eyeshadow to fill them in, I think the one I use is boots own natural collection in the shade Crushed walnut. I feel doing this just makes them flow better and look less out there.
3. Concealer - I do this after to just go over any blemishes or mid colourings in my skin. I use Collections lasting perfection concealer and it lasts so long it's literally my life saver! Again it's a build able product that comes in handy when you wake up with a huge spot on your face. Sometimes I use it under my eyes and in my T-zone to add some contour.
4. My favourite step next, BRONZER. I don't know why I love it so much but I love the bourjois highlight and bronzer compact. The shades are perfect and the product itself really add definition to my lacking in colour face, I apply this to my check bones, and buff it into my temples making sure that I'm blending in. Then the highlight goes under my brow bone, so that my eyebrows become lifted. Then I tend to sweep some along my T-zone, and that's it for the bronzing!
5. Eyeshadow - As always I'm using the Naked 3 palette by Urban Decay. However I don't have a set pattern of shades to use, I kinda just go with what I'm feeling that day. Then I usually blend out, and apply some liquid eyeliner along my upper lash line, applying mascara shortly after.
6. Lips - Don't get my wrong, I use bold lipsticks on occasion, but throughout winter, I use lip balm quite abit, because the wind is really drying and it makes my lips go so dry and chapped that I need to make sure they have moisture. In use burts bee's original most of the time, but recently I've been using Vaseline coco butter, and I must say it's very nice.
After that's done, I get my pressed powder and quickly sweep it along my face, allowing the makeup to set, then for extra strength I use a make up setting spray.
I would love to hear what you do when it comes to winter - in terms of makeup, so get commenting your favourite looks, so yeah! Thanks for reading, speak soon,
love, Megan
